Rip Van Winkle Open Rules
- All Contestants must be 16 years of age min.
- All Boaters must carry $100,000 Liability boat ins.
- Each boat must have at least one working live well.
- Each boat must have a working kill switch.
- Horse power may not exceed US Coast Guard Rating
- Boats must be a minimum 14 feet in length.
- Scoring determined by total weight of 7 fish.
- Winners will be determined by total weight of 7 fish minimum length 15 in per state law.
- penility for short fish 1 lb per fish.
- Penility for dead fish is 6 oz per each legal fish not kepy alive.
- Only artificial lures may be used.
- No Live bait permitted( Exception pork strips only).
- ANY FISH SHOWING LIVE WELL ABUSE OR IMPROPER HANDLING, AFRESH INJURY ETC., WILL BE SUBJECT TO A 2 POUND PER FISH PENILTY; TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS DECISION IS FINAL.
- Tournament waters are: Hudson River and it's tributaries from Troy Dam to Tappan Zee Bridge.
- NO FISHING within 50 yards weigh-in site.
- No locking through allowed.
- Contestants may not depart boat to land fish.
- No boats may leave tournament waters or be trailored during tournament.
- All waters are OFF_LIMITS from 6 pm Saturday untill the start of tournament.
- Contestants not cleared at check-in on time shall be penalized 1 pound off total weight for each minute late.
- Contestants arriving more than 10 miniutes late to dock shall lose all weight for day.
- All protests must be delivered to Tournament dirrector in writing with a $25 deposit before the start of the contestants flight's official weigh-in. Tournament Directors decision is final.(Valid protests deposit will be refunded)
- No alcohol or drugs shall be allowed in possession of any contestant during tournament fishing hours or weigh-in.
- The interpretation of these rules shall be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
- All contestants may be subject to a polygraph test.
